Another teenager in the house

Issac is offically a teenager. Welcome to the emotional rollercoaster, please make sure all seat belts are fastened tightly and place head between your knees and breath deeply if you begin to feel queazy. Please be sure you do not do this exercise if you ate beans the night before.
This year Ike, the avid fisherman, wanted a salmon cake. Because he is such an avid fisherman an actual salmon was not to be found because we all know avid fisherman never actually catch fish, they just talk about fish they almost caught.
Papa Brown gave Ike a very special gift. This is no ordinary banjo, but then again is there really such thing as an ordinary banjo? This is the banjo that Dan, Ike's dad, gave to Vertie, Ike's Papa. It is really quite a cool looking banjo. Ike went and bought some finger pics and Papa took him out to buy some music books now we just need to find someone who knows how to play the banjo and is willing to admit it.
If you look closely at Ike's shirt you can see one of the gifts we gave him. His birthday is May 4th. This shirt found on snorgtees.com says, "May the 4th be with you" How cool to have your own birthday t-shirt?
We thought Ike's writing teacher would get a kick out of this shirt. Ike is known for having atrocious spelling. I have no idea where he picked that nasty habit up from. :)
This is a close to a smile as we get outta the little twerp, and trust me, this is a huge smile.

  1. Great job on the cake, Jen! Happy birthday Ike! Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you. What a cool present, you better be good at playing that thing the next time we see you.
